Nach etwas Recherche habe ich im amerikanischen Porsche Rennlist Forum etwas zum S02A gefunden:
"That would be my guess based on the fact that I have the S-02A on my other car and they are great. Unlike the previous S-02's I had on my 993, they stick like glue and their steering response is phenomenal. I doubt the S-03 would be better in these departments as it was designed mainly with comfort, longevity and economy in mind. IMO, it's more of a sport sedan type tire."

"As to the S-02A, it is an OEM only tire approved for use on the 996 and has been used on some Ferraris. It is a completely different tire from the S-02 and its performance levels are far greater. This tire existed since the late '90's but Porsche didn't start installing it on the 996 until MY '02. The new S-03 PP's tread pattern is modeled after the S-02A's but that's where the similarities end. I think anyone who is interested in some serious performance, he/she will be quite happy with the S-02A."
Scheint also ganz brauchbar zu sein. Ist als N4 bei den meisten Reifendiskountern zum Preis vom normalen S02 erhältlich (205/50 17 und 255/40 17). Andere Größen habe ich nicht geschaut.
Nun sind wir von der eigentlichen Frage ja abgekommen. In der letzten Sport Auto wurden auch Reifen getestet, da hat der Falken 451 mit sehr empfehlenswert abgeschnitten. Der ist günstiger zu bekommen als die Bridgestone, Michelin oder Conti.
